The Planet Smoothie at 380 S. State Road 434 in Altamonte Springs is unveiling a new co-brand Friday Jan. 25, with Central Florida’s first Tasti D-Lite, a chain offering reduced-calorie frozen desserts.
Owner Jason Mann — who owns two Planet Smoothie centers in Central Florida including the one in Altamonte Springs — is the area developer for central and southwest Florida.
Mann's plans to combine Tasti D-Lite with existing Planet Smoothie locations and finding franchise owners to open new co-brands throughout central and southwest Florida. The strategy includes converting as many as 10 Central Florida Planet Smoothie locations into co-branded locations over the next five years.
Tasti D-Lite acquired Planet Smoothie in December 2011. The Altamonte Springs location will be one of the first dual brands in the country. Planet Smoothie is known for low calorie blended fruit drinks that low in sugar and high in protein options.
