Chef John Rivers of 4 Rivers Smokehouse

Chef John Rivers of 4 Rivers Smokehouse is representing Central Florida today at the South Beach Wine & Food Festival's Moet Hennessey's The Q, hosted by Paula Deen and sons. Cooking alongside celebrated chefs including Geoffrey Zakarian, Chris Lilly and Tim Love, this is chef Rivers third trip to SOBE.

Rivers is preparing an interactive carving station where guests can choose strip steaks or 18-hour angus smoked brisket – featured in Cooking Light's 2012 Taste Test Award's Artisanal category – paired with collard green-infused cheese grits. General admission tickets to the event, which will be held on the Delano's private beach, are available for $321 per person.

April 21 chef Rivers will return to South Florida to judge Cochon 555, a competitive swine throw down featuring five chefs, five heritage pigs and five winemakers. In August 2013, Chef John will make his debut at the James Beard House and launch his first cookbook featuring more than 80 consumer-friendly recipes and how-to tips for preparing meats and southern sides.
